There's a party, at my house, tomorrow. That would be a house party then, in honour of Oscar's birthday, although it doesn't matter if you've never met the chap, or me, for that matter. All are invited. I offer the following wording of the invitation:

On behalf of all of us at BPG, I would like to take this opportunity to
welcome you to an afternoon, eve, and possibly night of horticultural and
pyrotechnic revellery. Post-matinal pyrocultury as one might be tempted to
introduce it. Simply bring an appropriate plant and gardening impliment
with which to impliment the plantation of vegetation in our reservation,
something to drink and something to roast, and join us in trying to retain
an iota of control over a conflagrating barbeque, it's crazed stokers and
whatever terrible things are being inserted into the sodden ground without
due care and consideration. Then, when the patio and the grounds are
blooming with an exquisite chromatic fantasy of luxuriant flora, we can all
retire to the shade of the conservatory-kitchen to await the maturation of
any comestible produce that the horticulturists might have thought to
install and coax into premature co-operation.
The occasion being honoured is of course that of the introduction of Mr O.
Sharp into the world in which he now so vibrantly resonates, an introduction
which, I am tempted to imagine, took place in remarkably similar
circumstances to those outlined above.
It is understood that the late announcement of this project may preclude the
attendance of many of the invited, but please rest assured that whoever
cares to attend will be most thoroughly entertained. In the sincere hope of
seeing you Sunday,

Max A. Rush

The bad news is that I will have to run off to work between the hours of 3 and 8, but there will be a party continuing for your amusement, or indeed a boat race in that time, or you could come for lunch or boozing and skip the slow bit in the middle where people are sobering up for the evening drinking session.

Address and contact details are here. Comment if you can't read that and don't know where I live.

I'm sorry I missed the party. I've been somewhat out of contact. I hope you had a wonderful time.

Oh dear, it sounded like the party was going to be such fun - plants and cooking etc.
I'm in pain and miserable, behind with work and terribly tired all the time. My mother's operation is a week tomorrow.
I'm in Oxford at the moment. I'm here for another 2 weeks, but will have to go to Aber for a couple of days, and a visit to TNA. How goes it with you?

PS Am very bad at replying to texts ATM
