Fairly tedious day at work. Spent a lot of energy simply trying not to fall asleep at my desk. Had fun recommending a student Stitching by Anthony Neison, and then seeing the look on her face when she came back an hour later saying, roughly, Waterfolk?

This evening to the pleasance for A Laughing Matter. Not helped by the fact that I had seen the original production. The students did well throught the farce and some of them were so much better than they ever have been before. The ending, however, where a broken man plays the end of lear, was still being played for laughs. All tension deflated. Felt cheated.

The album today was Captain's This is Hazelville. The first couple of tracks kept jumping out at me each time they swung around, but the rest of the album blurred away. Nice pop rock sound, with a bit of 80s thrown in. The opening piano kept making me think I was going into something by Joby Talbot.
