It's been a lovely week. I've done lots of woodworking and lots of cooking and lots of generally being good. I completed four projects in the first four days of naarmamo and pictures are up here. I've also worked through two of the puzzles for the Protrait, but I can't share those here.

Went to Ye Olde Dogge and Flugelhorn last night, which someone had said was "no longer the happening place to be". It never was. It was, and remains to this day, the only place to be. And now I find that Viren Udehsi is the DJ on the Friday nights, I know I couldn't go anywhere else. I tended to be up for a string of four or five and then down for one or two. I danced a lot. I didn't know anyone there apart from the DJ, I recognised some faces, but no one recognised me, but something bizarre happened. Someone introduced themselves to me. Spontaneously. Not friend-of-a-friend or chatting-me-up or seen-you-every-week, but "Hello. I'm Jenny. This is Richard and Bernie and the guy on the end turned eighteen two weeks ago." Never in ten years of going down that smoke filled den of underage drinking has anyone ever done that to me before.

Left at three. Sat on the steps of the cathedral gently steaming and feeling somehow lost. Considered walking home for the exercise, but got as far as Pool Meadow before I realised how fucked my legs were. Grabbed a cab home, running into the milkman on the doorstep.

Woke late. Had a lesson in how to use a router, which was very exciting. One new tool mastered. We pootled out to look at lights for my parents bedroom and DVD writers for the living room and trousers to fit my fat waist. We stopped in at Macro on the way home. And what was written on the badge of the girl who served us?

Hello. My name is Jenny.

The very same.

THE Viren? Mr Neve Campbell? Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle. Last time I saw him it was his eighteenth birthday party in the very same Dog and Armpit. What is he now? 30?
