At some point soon I'm going to do a major sort out of my hoard of MP3s. I remember someone on here writing about a particularly good ID3 renamer. Put me out of my misery and remind me what it was.

I'm also probably going to need a file renamer and a format converter. If anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them.

Wasn't me, but ID3-TagIt is good. Unfortunately their Internetpräsenz appears to be down. ...Oh no it's not down, the auto-redirect is just broken in Firefox.

There's Bulk Rename Utility for mass file renaming.

That's not terribly helpful, is it? *grins*
Well, it could be if I knew which one it was, then I could avoid it.

I need to sort out the tags on my mp3s. Most of them don't have proper tags because I've never liked tags and so haven't sorted them out. Elly's folk music has working tags so my last.fm info thinks I listen to tonnes of folk.

But I listen to lost of music and folk is getting an unfairly high proportion in the stats. Bad folk.

I wonder if Kate sings. Maybe we could teach her.

I think Jack is a baritone. I think Jin could be a tenor.

There really should be a Lost choir. Is there a way we can suggest plot bits? :-)

They could find a really old organ buried on the island somewhere. They could even discover a load of music.

And then they could find a big cache of sex toys and things... ;-)

I don't even bother with genre tags. It's just checking the artist-title-album tags for the things that haven't come from ripping well documented CDs that I need.
