Last night I watched Blackball, the finale of which was the son apologising to his grandad and everyone living happily ever after. Then, while Writing in my LJ, I was ripping some old REM CDs and had, rarely for me, the thought of questioning their name and the significance of REM as a concept. After Oscar left I slept fitfully, too hot and with a nagging headache, but I had very vivid dreams. The only one I can remember is that I made my father proud and everyone else hated me. When I woke up, it was to Melvin Bragg on R4 discussing dreaming and the connection, or lack thereof, between REM sleep and dreams.

Left for work this morning with Oscar. He asked where I was going and I said "Wood Green. The library. Cockwank!" (I had remembered I had forgotten something). Journey thus punctuated with phone voice soundbites:

"Hello. Library of Cockwank. How can we help you?"

"You have reached the Library of Cockwank. We also stock Jism, Smegma and Spunk."

"Sorry sir, you want Shit; first floor."

etcetera, etcetera.

That made my morning.

Hmm...

Perhaps I didn't really want to admit that.

But then should I admit that that made mine?

Oh, do - then I can admit that the fact that your morning was made by the fact that my morning was made by something you said made my afternoon.

That's cute. Cute enough to complete my evening perfectly.
