Three weeks into the year. That's, like, four seventy thirds of the year gone already and I'm still accidentally writing 2008 on things.

The year opened with a fight on a tube platform which I totally missed. There then followed the cracking open of a bottle of £300 scotch to celebrate still being alive.

There was time at work. There is time at work. It is frightfully dull. Or agonisingly busy and filled with stupid people.

Last week I was in the French Alps in Serre Chevalier hurling myself down a big old hill with two sticks strapped to my feet. It was brilliant. I had the most inspiring of instructors who seemed to be of the impression that pistes weren't really skiing and in between teaching technique (which seems to be mostly about trusting your balance while squeezing a lemon between your arse cheeks) he took us down the snow park, surrounded by boarders doing flips and twists, and off piste to rivers that form natural half pipes. "Gaspard, could we cope with black runs?" "You could, but they're flat. No bumps. That's not skiing." He rocks.

I should probably post lots more about the trip, but now it is home time. The bestest time of the day.

I'm still writing 2008 on everything too. Not good when you have to issue readers' tickets.
